Today, “988” is the three-digit, nationwide phone number to connect directly to the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. By calling or texting 988, you’ll connect with mental health professionals with the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, formerly known as the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. Veterans can press “1” after dialing 988 to connect directly to the Veterans Crisis Lifeline which serves our nation’s Veterans, service members, National Guard and Reserve members, and those who support them. For texts, Veterans should continue to text the Veterans Crisis Lifeline short code: 838255.
As a group, veterans often struggle with addiction.
Substance use disorders and substance abuse are fairly common among those who have served in the military. There are a number of factors that contribute to this issue, with a big one being the often lax or pro-drug culture many people in the military find themself immersed in.
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is the agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that leads public health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nation.
The Suicide Prevention Resource Center (SPRC) is the only federally supported resource center devoted to advancing the implementation of the National Strategy for Suicide Prevention. SPRC is funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
If you or a loved one is struggling with a drug or alcohol addiction, you can rely on us to guide you to the best rehabilitation and treatment resources. Call now to get the care you need to overcome substance abuse at a price you can afford.
Your first step to recovery is that you must want move forward and leave your addiction behind. It must be a commitment from you, and you alone.
If so, we’re here to help you take the initial step towards recovery from drug or alcohol addiction by connecting you to an addiction rehab service provider. We know how hard it can be to seek the help you need. We also know what a difference it can make in your life. With care and compassion, we can help connect you with an addiction treatment center or related services. Our process is streamlined to be as stress-free as possible, and there is no cost for our referral services.
